& etc

In the past four years in user experience and product design, I've learned to focus on what's possible.

Since starting a UX bootcamp at Springboard, I aspired to develop work that was beyond my reach. It was easy to find the biggest issue in my user research and address it with ambitious design. But it wasn't until I graduated from my masters program when a professor asked me to work on a project that I could bring my skills to.

Since then, when doing research, I don't only look for the pressing distresses or potential improvements users are asking for. I take better care to see what it is I have to offer, and if I have to learn another skill, I'm honest about the learning curve. If it's possible, I make sure I have the tools to implement the vision.

As a non-coder, this is why I love working with teams. A broader range of skills on a project gives a designer like me the freedom to ask bigger questions and attempt more sophisticated answers.

Tech isn't the solution to every problem, nor is it the answer to the important things in life. It's a tool to help actualize those things, a medium to get people there. My place in it is to help that experience in it enjoyable.
